I don't work for waves, just wanna hear what other people other than myself have to say. You need to train your ears to adjust to them, but this didnt take. Four common reference curves are included, or create and save your own reference presets. Quickly take and merge up to 8 measurement snapshots of your system, and select a reference as the basis for your EQ corrections. My best mixes/masters, that translate the best across different systems, have been when using the VSX. Sound designer, re-recording mixer, composer, writer, director and editor Graham Reznick (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers, In a Valley of Violence, Until Dawn) mixes using Waves Nx Virtual Mix Room over Headphones and Waves Nx Head Tracker for Headphones. TRACT calculates a corrective FIR EQ curve and time alignment corrections using data from Smaart v8 or Di v2.

This head tracker works with the mentioned NX Virtual Mix Room software. Though it CANNOT and WILL NOT EVER be a substitute for quality monitors, do you think it's at least doing a good job at trying to bridge the gap? For making mix/master decisions, the level of detail and influence it has on your decisions has made a significant difference for me. I had the pleasure to travel to Kenia to create a 360 Video with my fellow. Head to the Waves site and try this plugin out for 14-days and comment below what you guys thing of it overall.
#WAVES NX MADE MY MIXES WORSE FULL#
So in my opinion its worth a buy, but I'd wait for the blue-tooth dongle to be released to be able to take full advantage of this plugin. It performs well, and is probably as close as us producers, without high-end equipment, can get to a mixing room without having to blow the bank.įor $49 it's not a bad deal.

It works well in all respects, does what it says it should, nothing mind blowing, and though it does seem a little bit gimmicky, if you're a bedroom producer and don't have 1) Really good room lighting or 2) $150 to pay for an add-on component, then don't get this plugin. I just bought Waves' new Nx plugin which simulates a virtual mixing environment.
